Understanding Historic ParklandWe're developing a new training course for 2012 to try to unpick what makes historic parkland of such special interest and value. We spend a lot of time researching and visiting ornamental gardens, but parkland is often overlooked. This new training will highlight its development and features to look for, as well as its vulnerabilities and outline Natural England funding options. With trainers from Land Use Consultancy and NE. The first date is 28 June near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, with site visit to nearby Greys Court (see AGT website HLP webpage for more details). A further date will be announced in the autumn, probably in Sussex. Thoughts welcomed! |

Understanding Conservation Management PlansWe have developed this training in order that CGT volunteers might play a full role in consultations on these plans which underpin planned conservation of our important historic landscapes. We've run it once - and are running it again on 18 May 2012 - places are still available (see web page). |

Country ParksHere you can download a short presentation on Country Parks - it is offered as an introduction to these valuable sites which often have historic elements which are overlooked. This presentation suggests ways in which CGTs might increase their involvement in their conservation. |

Legislation and how it might affect usPlenty of changes are afoot in the world of planning. Whilst there are lots of generic websites on planning, here we can highlight ways in which CGTs' work might be particularly affected and discuss local goings-on! |

Evaluating the Historic Landscape ProjectOver the course of the final year of the project, April 2012 to March 2013, we have to evaluate the activities and value of the project for the development of CGTs. This Forum can help in thinking about what has and hasn't worked and what might be useful to draw on in such projects in the future. |
